What options are open to me?
Sole-charge NannyEmployed in the absence of the parents to care for the total well being of the children. A nanny is responsible for all aspects of the day to day care i.e. cooking, childrens laundry, general activities, and stimulation and development of the children. A nanny may hold a recognized qualification i.e. NNEB, BTECH nanny diploma, for which she will have studied for 2 years full-time. Maternity NurseEmployed to help care for new born babies, and to assist new mothers with those first few anxious weeks. Maternity nurses live with the family and are on call 6 days a week on a 24 hour day basis. They are very experienced nannies, who have specialized in this area, or may have worked as midwives or nurses in the past. Baby-sitterAt Premier Nannies we operate an evening baby-sitting service. This is available after 7pm in the evening. Charges are based on an annual membership fee, and then the baby-sitters are paid direct by the client. A Mothers HelpEither live-in or daily - works along side a busy mother, lending a hand with all the household tasks relating to the children. A mother's help would probably be a newly qualified nanny, just starting out in their chosen career and therefore capable of some sole charge.
